Faith

Faith is a pretty important thing in life. Right now, you’re trusting in many things. You have faith that the earth won’t explode as you read this, or that your lungs won’t stop working randomly. I know what you might think “But Huura, what are the chances of that happening?” So let’s look at something a bit more realistic. Let’s say you’re in an airplane flying anywhere in the world. You wouldn’t run to the cockpit and grab the controls to fly it when you have no experience. No, you would trust the pilot to land in whatever airport you’re going to - safely - like every other passenger since, of course, they’re a professional. So why is it hard for us to trust in God? He is as professional as professional can be. He created us all individually with a purpose. No one else can guide you to your destination as efficiently as God can yet we still find it difficult to trust in Him.

Personally, I used to strive to control every single piece of my life. I wanted everything in check and I wanted to do it ALL by myself. But as you may know, it’s not easy. It’s impossible actually. After I realized this I thought to myself “What should I do now? I can’t control these things so now what?” I turned to God and asked Him to guide me through life, through school, and any other thing that may come in my path. After that everything seemed to fall in line perfectly! Every worry that was on my mind, everything that would usually keep me up at night thinking, felt taken care of. It was a sense of complete peace because I knew my future was secured in God’s hands. And unlike many things in this world, God’s help is always guaranteed.

Don’t be stubborn like I was and persist in trying to have that sense of control, because, in reality, you won’t find what you’re looking for on your own. Isaiah 41:10 (NIV) says “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” When we start to live with this in mind our lives will change for the better. So stand firm in your walk with God, don’t let the enemy distract you from His unchanging promise! “‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) Amen.

Such a powerful message Huura, I too find myself wanting to be in control at all times and just take on the steering wheel. But you've reminded me how important it is to let God take control no matter what we are going through.🤎🤎
